Third Annual KnoweScape Conference, Mons, Belgium October 7-9, 20
October 7, 2015 - October 9, 2015
The Third Annual KnoweScape Conference will take place in Mons/Bergen, Belgium October 7-9, 2015. Conference chair for this event is Renaud Lambiotte and the Mundaneum, will act as local organizer.
Third Annual Knowescape Conference “From Data to Knowledge – Measuring,
Predicting and Visualizing Science”, 7-8-9 October 2015 – Mundaneum
The conference takes place at the Mundaneum – the archives of Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine, in Mons/Bergen, Belgium, while Mons is European Cultural Capital 2015. The Mundaneum has dedicated a new exhibition “Mapping Knowledge” to its re-opening 2015, to which several TD1210 members contributed.
In October 2015, KnowEscape will be “in residence” for 3 days. Our plan is to organise the Annual meeting in a radically different way. Instead of a collection of talks about research, we aim at expanding our conference into the exhibition, and at reaching to the broader public. In particular, we aim at giving 3-4 lectures to the broader public on important societal topics, including Big Data, Privacy, Citizens science, Data Visualization, Open Data. In detail the format will be: Morning sessions dedicated to achievements inside of TD1210; afternoon/lunch and evening keynotes (from TD1210 members and some few invited experts)
addressing a wider public; complemented with workshops about tools
(developed by TD1210 members) and directed to students of local Higher
education institutes. Linking of a call to submit posters and visualisations and the exhibit. Each afternoon, there will be 2-3 keynotes by invited speakers
addressing the wider public.
