This workshop will bring together bibliometricians working on topic identification with scholars interested in the comparison of algorithms for network analysis. Much of the comparative work will be conducted by participants prior to the workshop. At the workshop, the comparison will be discussed, and causes for differences be identified. The collaborative work will lead to a special session at the ISSI 2015 conference in Istanbul and to a special issue of Scientometrics on topic identification. Draft contributions to this special issue will also be discussed at the workshop.
