II Workshop on Simulating the Social Processes of Science
March 8, 2016 - March 11, 2016
This workshop aims to intensify the contacts between TD1306 PEERE and TD1210 Knowescape. Both Actions share an interest in modelling the social processes in science, processes of knowledge production, scholarly communication and processes of quality control. Peer review is at the core of the self-organized, autonomous dynamics of the science system. The workshop builds on the I Workshop on Simulating the Social Processes of Science, held in Leiden, April 2014, at which members of the at that time starting TD1306 were also present.
This workshop will help to coordinate those overlapping areas between both Actions which deal with abstract, conceptual models, simulation, and the use of visualisations to better map, analyse and understand the dynamics and effects of peer review processes in science.
Organisers: Bruce Edmonds and Francisco Grimaldo Moreno (TD1306).
